I called them 2 weeks ago about picking up some living room furniture. They asked me the condition of the furniture and I said good...

because it was in good condition. When the guy got here he said he could not take the chair because it was stained. I said it is not stained its cat hair, my vacuum hose broke so I could not get it all up. I got a hair roller and it came right off.

He said we dont take anything that is not in perfect condition. I said you know thats an insult. I live in a million dollar home, this is not some junk I am giving them, and I am not some low call street person.

Then when he was moving the sofa bed, mind you I am giving for free and they will Sell it. There was a tiny tare on the bottom of the corner of the couch.

He called me to look at it and said this is worn out and I cant take it.

I told him, I cant believe it, I am sure there is some homeless person that would love to have this.

I called the store and tried to talk to a manager which they would not let me, and the guy on the phone insulted me, he had pics and said it was worn out.... ugghhh no the furniture is not brand new and it has some wear on it, but it is by no means worn out.

If the Salvation Army would accept all of these wonderful furniture donations that people try to give them, but are turned down because of minor blemishes, then they wouldn't have to have their bell ringers hanging out in front of the stores during the holiday season. They ought to be ashamed of themselves; beggars shouldn't be choosers.

The way that they are acting is like if there was a homeless panhandler on the street corner, and you had a pocket full of a dollar something in pennies, and you decided 'Oh, what the heck, I'll give this poor gentleman all of these pennies.

He needs them more than I do." And then the homeless gentleman would refuse the pennies and angrily yell at you "I don't take pennies!". My friend, that is EXACTLY like they are acting.
