Salvation Army - Manager Review
Nasty employee
I made product donation to the Salvation Army and so I did the pick option. It was tv, AC, washer and dryer.
So I did the pick up for the tv and AC on February and they cancel on us. We called someone to rescheduled and they said they would put the other items with the washer for March. So I called again because nobody came to pick up the washer and I get a man on the phone. He ask me how the condition of the washer and dryer.
I said they okay it still works they are used items. He said that we don't take anything unless it looks new. I been to several Salvation Army store and everything they have there are used. So I'm trying to ask him other question, but he keeps harping how the condition for the washer and dryer.
I keep telling him it okay it still works and he has the nerve to say that I'm not answer his question. I asked him does he know what donation means. So he gets angry and tells me that all my donation pickup will be cancel and hangs up on me.
Not only that when I call back someone says that all donation pickup are cancel at my zip code. Your customer service is horrible.

Continious Belittleing
To whom it may concern, 11/04/2016
I Dawn Nutting have been in the employ of the Salvation Army Twin Falls since August 2016 and since that time I have seen Lt. Felecia Cook have a temper numerous time with Patty Cameron as well as myself. I witnessed her belittle her with her tone of voice as well as myself. Lt. Felicia has a power problem and the fact that she likes to exert it over her employees is simply wrong. I picked up some cookies off the bread line after all the in-need people had come through one day and was going to give out cookies to the children that come to my office. I was informed that I’m not allowed to do that and made to feel ashamed for doing it. I was informed that I am to tell the needy “No” and make them come back for appointments which I don’t have problems with but neither Lieutenant has bothered to learn what goes in a food box.
As far as our bread line I was informed that it was my job only and I determined what went where, but that’s not the case. So basically, when I’m at a service meeting it will not get done by either lieutenant. Then there’s our after-school program they closed it instead of filling the gap and running it and it upset people in our community to the point that some long-time donors weren’t going to donate anymore. Lieutenant Felicia insists that their way is the right way when so far all I’ve seen is our community upset and some people going hungry. I think maybe they were trained in a “big-city community” and our community is still very ma and pa with most of us in the community being related. I was treated like a robber for having my daughter come in and apply even though she met the guidelines for the Christmas program and gets a food box from the core once a year.
The other thing that bothered me was Felicia insisting that I go to their church so the people could see me there. I felt like my choice to worship somewhere of my choosing was being taken from me. Lieutenant Felicia is very bossy and pushy and insists on things being done her way. We are very short staffed and having volunteers doing a lot of the work around the Core there. I am expected to get the bread and donations in half an hour when sometimes I can have six carts to unload. I was told I only had to do this for two weeks it’s been three months. I then must come in to upwards of 17 messages and try to get back to the neediest as well as my own paperwork, ordering food from the food bank, running the pantry and doing energy assistance and bus passes. As I’m sure your aware to be thorough we must take a little time to get the client entered into the system. I am also expected to keep tabs on all volunteers. None of this I mind it just is time consuming and I was recently belittled because of the appearance of my desk. I had a week and a half training before my predecessor left and I’ve literally had to train myself on most things.
I got some gas cards donated to help the needy and it’s been a week and I’m still waiting on how to disperse them. I also got one of our bread donors to do a food drive and Lt. Felicia has taken over a month to make a flyer for it to start. Lieutenant Troy backs Felicia up even when she’s overbearing so I feel he is just as guilty. Since their arrival they haven’t gotten any operating grants approved and tell me I must ask permission to try. I did try for one grant by using an old accepted format but wasn’t given the proper documentation on time to get it from the company this was also at the hands of Lieutenant Felicia. They spend a lot of time in their offices and little interacting with the people. That or running their son to school and activities. When we have an unruly person in the building they usually do very little to back us up in asking the person to leave even when they are drunk or belligerent. My hours have been changed 3 times as well as now my lunch is a half hour. When I need answers my lieutenants are clueless. I’m telling you these things not necessarily to get anyone into trouble but let you know that they aren’t treating the workers there with very much dignity or respect. This is turning people away in our community as well as our reputation as giving, loving Christians. Patty Cameron is a bright star there and has the love of Christ. I tell you this so the next person that comes to have my position might be better trained as well as the truth about how the employees are treated there. The previous person that had my job left because of them also and told me that she felt sorry for me. Please don’t turn a blind eye to this being belittled is almost as bad as being physically hit to the soul. The lieutenants put all the work on the employees and don’t seem to consider how many hats we wear.
Growing up around here as well as having many family members in the service field I can honestly say that they are ruining the Salvation Army’s reputation as a loving place in our community which is how I’ve known it even as a small child here.
Thanks for your time,
Dawn Nutting

Yeah I've heard that alot about them lately. Hard finding people who can work an eight hour day anymore I suppose.
