Sounds like some terrible goings on needs to be investigated

They should be shamed for treating poor folks like trash, after all they claim to represent and care about the less fortunate. I've read some harsh negative reviews about the S.

A. and now I'm begging to see the problem.

Thankyou for this information. I work for the government and will surely investigate these alleged activities.

The Salvation Army Shelter in Parkersburg, West Virginia is the rare exceotion to that rule. They run a really nice Homeless Shelter there, and if you are homeless, it would be worth your while to travel there to have a decent place to stay.

Rent assistance

I finally got in touch with the salvation army in Ft Lauderdale but they could not help because i was told that they were out of funds. Afterwards, I called Miami. They could help but i do not have an eviction notice. I don't understand why you all state that you're willing to help but you have too many loops to go through. My rent is due on the 1st of Jan. My landlord lives in Boston. Why all these loops? Why should I have to wait for an eviction notice when i'm telling you when my rent is due? No wonder individuals don't bother. This is unbelievable and you're supposed to be a christian organization. I defended this country in the military and gave donations many times to your organization and I can't get help one time. By the time that i go through all of these loops, the 1st would be gone and would be returning again. Thanks a lot.

When they came, they would'nt take them because they had a couple stains that could have been cleaned. You are getting them for FREE. What more do you want? Never again will you ever get anything. No price tags on merchandise

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Unable to purchase desired merchandise due to policy of no price tags/no sale. Which makes no sense as the merchandise is originally tagged on property in their OWN warehouse. Administrator confirmed if no price tag they send to another store. Why it cannot simply be RETAGGED rather than removed from the store is a rediculous mystery. Consumer is penalized for store policy. I will not shop here again.

I purchased a bike while temporary employed thru an agency. I was unable to pickup bike for 3 week's. I have since gone back and was told my bike was sold. Managers Miriam and Sharon says to contnue calling until they get more. There is more bike's however they're being sold to other's. Is this the stores policy?

They're doing just like a scam artist who sells the same automobile to three different people. They should refund you your money that you paid for the bicycle at the very least.

What they did was probably illegal. I guess that they figured since you never picked up the bike that it became their properry again, so that's why they resold it to someone else.

I bet if the person who had donated the bicycle in the first place would have known they were going to act that way, that they would have just given to some poor person that they always see walking every time they go anywhere. Maybe you could get a lawyer from the legal aid society and sue them for a million dollars.

Bribed by Amazon dealer

Northwest Arkansas Salvation Army thrift stores save all books for large Amazon dealer. Will not put out but only a handful of books. Majority of books put in Gaylord's and sent to Fayetteville where S. Smith picks them up for resale. Crooked and bribery has gone on for years.

They would only take it if they could easily move the furniture and if it was in nice enough condition for them to sell for alot of money. The Salvation Army doesn't sweat the small stuff. But, I am guessing that they probably wouldn't even want to go look at it if there had been a dead body laying in the bed for a month.

When I went to talk to the Major she stated.Yeah I Called her a Heffer because she called me a cracker. Some of these places you send your kids to have to talk to a child how you would want somebody to treat your kids.

And be the adult .

I don't play with my kids and she did get get an old fashioned tail whooped. Children have to learned respect to.

Simply horrible dishonest people

It took me over 2 months to get them to come for a pick-up. When they came they told me my kitchen set including 6 chairs and 2 leaves was outdoor furniture and therefor they would not take it.

When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the truck driver gave me the phone number to call and while I was on the phone, the driver drove off without taking any my donations even the items unrelated to the kitchen set. When I told the supervisor what just happened he told me drivers don't have time to wait.

He said he would have his supervisor call me to discuss, which never happened. So, after months of waiting I was left to put back into storage all the items they said they would take.

I’ve just had a terrible experience at one of their stores as a worker. I will never return to any of their stores.

However while I did work there, I witnessed so many people just trying to get rid of junk. Usually for a truck to come and haul it away from them in lieu of going to the tip. Mattresses... terrible furniture that would never sell, broken, dirty and stained items.

If they took everything that was offered to them, the stores would resemble garbage tips.

I witnessed people pulling up with bags full of garbage trying to pass it as donations. They have strict health and safety rules...

YOU NEED TO TAKE IT UP WITH "HOMELESS CORPORATE"

All of the people on here that are pissed off about the Salvation Army declining to pick up their junk furnishings and how they charge too much for their merchandise need to take it up with Homeless Corporate. Go talk to one of the Hobos flying a panhandling sign and ask him to spread word amonst the Homeless that you've got some great furniture that you would like to give to them, so that they can make their homeless camps more like home. Tell them that since it wasn't good enough for the Salvation Army to come get, that you are letting the homeless have them for free. And I recommend that you spread the word to everyone else to simply donate their unwanted items directly to the homeless from now on.

Should include SF LA DC among the list. They have a tree of monkey knowledge ties to the 503c3 leaders.

At miriam kitchinn they advertising fir durector of communications on twitter facebook. 100k fir director, 42k-plus for development assustant. That is like $150,000 for (2) staff positions for soup kutchen in dc. And we know who will be hired most likely is dude doing outreach already.

He's like the annointed one becuz he is educated in the monkey tree and well connected even if he looks like jesus christ brother. When he dontates less than forty dollars around holuday season it thrills the homeless kitchen advocacy group. The kitchen can use a rennivation. It can use decent coats tents bkankets closet space bicycle supplies etc for the homeless.

But this is how the trickle down benefits everyone.

That kinf of mitivation to collects data for studies anf to constrain the message and to sekect the homeless props and to strengten umbrella irganuzation lol eat up tlother ngos. twitter.com/igotit4free/status/123531****66957****

Make The Vagrants Staying At The Shelter Move The Heavy Furniture Donations!

As a concerned citizen, I have read many reviews on the pissed off consumer site where people have said the the Salvation Army refused to take furniture from them because it was to big or bulky or heavy. I have a solution to their problem: The Salvation Army outta make a bunch of the vagrants who are staying under their roof go out on the road with them, and make those ably bodied men(and women!) to all of the heavy lifting and carrying of the furniture.

I am sure that these people would be pleased to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Once, in Parkersburg, West Virginia I was hanging out underneath the pavillion, sitting on one of the couches. The preacher who was in charge of the whole place came out of the warehouse and asked me if I would help me move all of the donations under the Pavillion into the warehouse, because they had been having alot of stuff stolen from there and it was the fourth of July and the regular workers had the day off. I gladly helped this nice man move all of the donations and furniture inside.

He asked me if I had been waiting for the free meal, and I told him that they weren't doing it that day because it was the fourth of july. The preacher then said "Well, they had it yesterday and that was a sunday!" and he said since they weren't having a free meal that he was going to give me $5. He then said that it wasn't a handout, that I had worked hard helping him move the donations, so that $5 was money that I had rightfully earned. I was very grateful and I went and ate at McDonalds with it.

This happened in 1998, 20 years ago, so the $5 was worth more in today's money then than it would be now. But I say, Hey!

put those people to work doing all of that heavy lifting and hauling. make them earn their keep!

  • Preacher gave me five dollars for helping move furniture
Cons:
  • That they padlocked good food in dumpster
  • That they give you the boot out into the cold in morning
  • Salvation army staffs mean rude attiitudes

Hello, I wrote the above review. After thinking about it, I think I have got the day wrong that this happened on.

It think it was really Memorial Day. All I know is that they wern't feeding the free daily meal because it was a holiday, probably Memorial Day because it was warm like summer time. I got the day wrong because it was so long ago (20 years ago) I know that when I was staying at The Salvation Army, I would have been pleased to go around with the box truck helping them pick up furniture.

And this Salvation Army I mentioned didn't make you pay to stay there, but they did make yo down the street to the Department OF Family Services to arrange to have the state pay them money for your stay, if you were going to be staying there any length of time. But, I would have gladly helped them move furniture if they had asked me to.

Resold a folded table for a higher price

Salvation Army - Resold a folded table for a higher price

On 3/10/2018. I purchased a folded table from

Salvation Army store on South Main Street in High Point Nc. I went to store to pick up item

Today 3/17/2018. When asking employee Ivy for the item I

Was told she could not locate it. One of the dock workers came out and asked me for a description of the item

I had purchased and a copy of my receipt. I gave description of item and gave him my receipt showing I had purchased the item. He came back and stated he still could not locate it. I told him

If he let me come look

I could show him

The table if it was back there. He let me in and I pointed the table out to

Him. Dock

Workers had began to retrieve the table to load into my vehicle when another man came out and told them

Not to load and that employee by the name of Ivy wanted to speak with me. Ivy than began to

Tell me that the item

I purchased did not have the correct price on it, because they had just gotten it in this week and she priced it at 499.00. I told her that was not so because I bought it last week

For 99.00. She then stated whatever someone must have switched the tag. I informed her that the Hispanic lady at the register today was the one that sold it to

Me. And the tag on the table stated furniture land folded table for $99.00. I told her a sold tag with my name and phone number was taped to the table on 3/10/2018. She then stated that she knew nothing about it. I then reminded her she was at the register last week

When I purchased the table. She then stated let me call my manager. She called someone on her cell phone and stated I claimed I paid 99.00 for a table last week

That she had sold to

Someone else for 499.00. He stated give me my money back. I don't want my money back . I want the table that I purchased last week. One cannot sell someone an item for one price and then turn around and same sell the same item to another customer for a higher price. If you sold my item that i

Paid for without my consent for a higher price. Then I am entitled to what you sold that item for . I also

Want back the money I paid for the rental

Truck to

come pick up the table I purchased.

The individuals that resold the table should be reprimanded . Intergatery is everything.

It is obvious they do not have any. Individuals like this should not be able to represent the Salvation Army.

Guest

The Salvation army should say that if you can bring in proof that you are on SSI, that they will let you have the furniture for 75 percent off what they are charging for it. SSI is only about 25% of what a person making a normal wage makes. The Salvation Army should do that to be fair and decent.

Guest

I agree. Salvation Army receive donated goods and price the at a outrageous price to consumers that cannot buy new items . A complete ripoff...Shame on Salvation Army

Guest

Beneficiary’s at the Oklahoma City ARC are worked like slaves ,the major is a thief of donated goods ,
